Switzerland still in the lead when it comes to the competitiveness of talent

Switzerland remains on the top podium for its ability to attract and retain talent. It is followed by the United States, which this year overtakes Singapore, according to an index published by the World Economic Forum (WEF). This is the seventh year in a row that Switzerland has been at the top of this " Talent Competitiveness Index".

Swiss Startups Attract Record 2,26 Billion Equity Investment in 2019

The Swiss venture capital market has proved strong in 2019 and Venturelab data shows that equity investments passed the 2 billion-mark for the first time. Following a positive first semester with over 1,3 billion investments in Swiss-based startups, the second half of the year has seen a constant number of relevant growth rounds, bringing the total capital invested in Swiss companies to 2,26 billion. An increase of 83% with respect to 2018. Equity rounds increased from 230 in 2018 to 345 in 2019.


Launch of the Swiss Food & Nutrition Valley

The Swiss Food & Nutrition Valley was launched today at the World Economic Forum in Davos. The initiative, led by the Canton of Vaud, EPFL, EHL and Nestlé, aims to address the key challenges of sustainable and high-quality food by attracting talent, start-ups and investments to Switzerland.

The Vaud people are at the top of the list of the Confederation's most heavily taxed taxpayers. This study, published every two years, is based on an objective inter-cantonal and international comparison. The aim is to show where the canton stands in terms of taxation, but also to shed light on how to ensure the canton's prosperity today and in the future.


Lausanne ranked world’s best small city

Lausanne in Switzerland has been ranked the best small city in the world. It topped the chart in Monocle’s inaugural Small Cities Index, which ranked the best 25 small cities in the world with a population under 200,000. The ranking was compiled by Monocle’s correspondents, editors and researchers who looked at factors such as the quality of public transport, rail and air connections, lively metabolism and progressive local government, among other things

EPFL among the global leaders in crypto education

Digital currency exchange platform Coinbase has released the second edition of its Leaders in Crypto Education report, which includes a ranking of the 50 best universities in the world offering courses on cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology. The Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL) ranks 5th worldwide and 1st in Europe. Only two other European universities are in the top 10 : ETH Zurich (8th) and the University of Copenhagen (9th).
